This is the entrance to Rochdale Town Hall...a beautiful building.
My tripod for this shot was the road, so I had to be careful not to get hit by a car, or worse, the camera get ran over..esp with an 8 second shutter speed

Here is a shot of Urbis that I took a few nights ago on a wet day in Manchester...it is constructed of a series of shots that I blended in at different points to get the colours, highlights and shadows I wanted.
As ever, please click on the image for an enlarged view.

I met this man a couple of years ago, he was helping to build a new Kingdom Hall for Jehovas Witness' in my town...it was amazing in that they had gathered around 100 people from around the country to come and help on this build - some of which from overseas.
This man was English, but he could speak in a number of different langauges including Urdu and Russian.

This was another shot I took at the Trafford Centre (same series as below), and my favourite shot...and to be perfectly honest, one of my favourite photos I've ever taken.

I like doing interior photography, but recently I've been thinking about the time it takes, and how many shots you will take to get to the right settings, and then composing it, and then composing differents shots together to get one final photo - and often, unless the interior is really cool, you wonder whether it was worth it.
So I decided to take some shots whilst walking back to my car from work (Trafford Centre), but the camera on a 1 or 1.5 second shutter speed, and then took shots as I was walking back.
I'm pleased with the shots, they show movement and document my journey, and I can see elements of the TC when looking at them. My younger brother said they were crap and look like they were taken by accident...what do you think?
I'll post my favourite of all the shots next time.

Another 3shot post..I will try and take some new shots today, I have a new idea I want to try out that is based on Architectural photography.
Shot 1: You may have seen on the news that we are meant to see more Spiders as they have enjoyed excellent conditions for breeding. This was taken at a underground passage in my town, where spiders live in and around the lights that illuminate this passage.
Shot 2: What I love about Street Photography is that it isn't always planned, you take your camera and yourself, and take photos, and sometimes its only when you get home you get time to examine what you've taken..this is one of those times. The shop in the background and this man in his pose were there by complete chance - I was happy with the shot.
Shot 3: An emerald coloured tree taken through an old, rotting window.
As ever, click to enlarge, and thanks for the comments on the previous photos

These three are all images I took a couple of years ago, and I'm posting them as I have no new material. Working full time has made me appreciate the amount of free time I used to take for granted, and how I need to organise my time better.
The first image was taken in my local town centre
The second in Manchester, outside Primark...I'm sure many have felt the same way as this particular man
The third is of the grounds of an old stately home near Leeds...a very beautiful and serene place - I want it.
As ever, click to enlarge each shot, and all comments are appreciated

Dom was clearly in a state of deep concentration.

It has been a couple of weeks since I last posted, largely down to me being up at 7am and not being back till 6pm whilst on my placement.
I took these two shots earlier today, I've never noticed the light-dark blend on the bathroom blinds until today, times like this you wish you had a macro lens.
I prefer the 1st photo.
As ever, click to enlarge the shots, and thanks for the comments on the previous photos.

I started a new work placement with a Multi-Disciplin Architectural company this monday in their Interior department...lots of work, and less hour of sleep...but its going well.
I also recently finished a site that will act as a portfolio for me for the next 6 months or so...
Thanks for the comments on the previous shot, and as ever click to enlarge

I love street photography, and these were taken from earlier this year when we (Manchester United) were playing Barca in the CL Final..we lost because we didn't turn up....

This woman must have been on a break, sitting on a step of an old building, reading a book and smoking away.
She had no idea I took the shot, she was completely within her book

At the minute it is the month of Ramadhan for Muslims around the world, and its the month where you fast for the daylight hours...I was going through some old photos on my hd and found this, a doughnut outlet called Dunkin' Doughtnuts in Dubai...made me feel a little hungry...these were seriously impressive doughnuts

I took this yesterday whilst at Carvers Warehouse in Manchester where I am doing a work placement witha design company, typical Manchester weather...clicking will bring up an enlaged version.
Somobdy commentated yesterday that the photos I post should automatically be larger. Unfortunately with this template, anything larger cuts part of the photo off...I am in the process of designing a website which I hope will go live in a few weeks so then the photos will be larger

The penultimate photo of the Trafford Centre...this is off the foodhall, that must have atleast 10 different outlets to eat from.
The design for this, and the rest of the shopping centre was done so with Vegas in mind, the idea was to create an interior that would seperate the outside world from inside, create a unique environment. It worked, as no matter when you go to this shopping centre it is always full of people - regardless of any economic downturn.

These two shots are of Urbis, in Manchester...the building was designed by Ian Simpson Architects, and was/is a major landmark in the City. Anybody who visit the city and arrives at Victoria Train Station will see it straight away. It does cause debate as not everybody likes the vast expanse of glass alongside the existing architecture around it.
As ever, click to enlarge the image, all comments welcome and appreciated.
